A few years ago, I used to make my way to a cute little coffee shop to meet a group of strangers once a week. Of course after a few weeks they weren’t strangers any more. They became friends that I looked forward to seeing each week. At the regularly scheduled time, we would all meet with hooks or needles, & a beautiful ball of yarn in hand. We’d knit & chat for hours, losing track of time quickly. Eventually that group fell apart & I didn’t really go searching for a new group of gals. But recently (now that I have a bit more time on my hands) I find myself really missing the bond you form when you craft together with someone. It’s amazing the things you can discover about yourself when you craft with others, not to mention the crafting techniques you can learn from those former strangers.
Don’t get me wrong, I love a good bit of solo crafting time to get away from all the chaos that can go on around me…but boy do I miss the bonds that can form over sticks & string. I don’t know many other things that can bring complete strangers with nothing in common & turn them into valuable friends.
Crafts well with others.
Until I can find some crafting buddies, I’m hoping that the online friendships from KALs will get me by. If you are looking for an online crafting friend to talk about projects with & share stories, let’s talk!
That’s my thought this Thursday…what’s yours?
